POP Re-formed Sues City, Park District

POP sues!Protect Our Parks has been re-formed with a new Board of Directors (that does not include Tom Tresser). On May 15, 2018 they filed a law suit in United States District Court, the Northern District of Illinois. The law suit seeks to stop the building of the Obama Center in Jackson Park.   1. Why use very valuable Park land rather than abonndonned and/or blighted land very close by? Seems to be so contrary to what former President Obama stands for and not the legacy I would think he would want to be associated with. Can’t help feeling shame and sadness about this 🙁 Please move to a more suitable site that will save the park, beautify blighted land, and retain all the social and economic benefits of the current proposal. In fact, paying someone that may need the money for land rather than taking it from kids and taxpayers would be of greater benefit to Chicago and the Southside than the current proposal.
